The Greater Nashville Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® has approved $437,000 in grants to local nonprofits to assist with education, screenings and treatment for breast cancer. In total, the agency has funded over $4 million in local Middle Tennessee breast cancer programs.
This year’s funded partners include:
Austin Peay State University
Charis Health Center
Meharry - Friends In General
Primary Care & Hope Clinic
Saint Thomas Mobile Mammography
Saint Thomas West Clinic
Siloam Family Health Clinic
Tennessee Department of Health
YMCA – ABC Program
Vanderbilt Center for Health Services
“Our most recent Community Profile, which assessed the needs of the communities in our service area, identified Davidson, Montgomery and Rutherford counties as priority areas for screening and education. We are pleased that many of our grant recipients focus on providing the low-income and under-/uninsured with vital breast health services in those areas as well as serving communities in the entire affiliate 11-county service area,” said Patty Harman, Executive Director of the Affiliate.
