Financial Resources —Did you know that there are many financial resources that can help people living with breast cancer? Find out more
Voices of Impact™ — Join us here as we continue to share stories that celebrate the women and men who inspire us all.
An estimated 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. Breast cancer screening, treatment, and awareness are vital to ensure the health of individuals in our communities.
To best address the enormity and complexity of the issue, Komen Greater Nashville believes that it is imperative to fund community-based breast health programs that provide culturally appropriate education and outreach, screening coordination, support and treatment.
Through events like the Komen Greater Nashville Race for the Cure, we have invested more than $3.6 million in local breast health and breast cancer awareness projects in our 11-county area over the past 12 years. Up to 75 percent of all funds generated by the Komen Greater Nashville Affiliate stay in our Affiliate Service area, while the remaining income goes to the National Award and Research Grant Program supporting scientific research programs to find cures.
Our National office of Susan G. Komen for the Cure supports research through its peer-reviewed granting program. For more information on that program see, www.komen.org.
